India has some of the largest BPO companies in the world, and a set of specialists that run work outside the office, in stores and markets.

How to choose
Decide what you are outsourcing
Contact-centre, claims, finance or data work suits the large BPOs. Sales, retail execution and other work that happens outside an office needs a company with field managers in the cities you sell in.
Ask how quality is measured
Agree the measures before you sign: resolution time and accuracy for back-office work, visits, orders and audit scores for field work. Ask for a sample of the reports you will receive.
Check data and labour compliance
Your supplier will handle customer data and employ the people doing your work. Ask about data protection under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act and about provident fund, ESI and labour-code compliance.
Limits of this list
Revenue figures cover each company’s whole business, not only India, and use different financial years: calendar 2025 for Genpact and EXL, April 2025 to March 2026 for the Indian-listed companies. TopHawks is private and is compared on the figures it has made public. Choose a supplier on references in your own industry, not only on size.
